This trip, the first of the three to be undertaken by dad and myself, took place from August 1 - August 9, 2003. My brother had taken a graduation trip with my dad soon after graduating from high school; however, when my turn came, I had a lot of things going on over the summer and never quite got around to taking the trip. Finally, in 2003, I realized that there was nothing holding me back from such a trip and approached my dad with the idea. We began planning early in 2003 and on a Friday afternoon, left Edmond, OK for the north. Following is the route and details of each day.
